Without realizing it, I have been playing chess all my life. My chessboard has been the business world, where, game after game, I have helped my clients, my kings, along with loyal and patient colleagues, advisors, quick and brilliant like bishops, strategists, creative and unpredictable like knights, and experts, robust and decisive like rooks.
We have planned strategies, organized defenses, launched attacks, and brought challenges to victorious conclusions.
Only recently have I approached the wooden chessboards, the real ones. And what magic it has been! With my husband, my children, my nephews, we have played, learned, and smiled.
For all this, I am delighted to contribute to the Chess Projects tournament. May the best ones prevail!

March 11, 1975 – December 27, 2025
Stéphanie Mingardon was a highly successful consultant and executive, but above all, an intelligent, profound, and extraordinarily interesting person.
Like all chess players, before making any decision she mastered the art of planning, analyzing, and evaluating each option and its consequences, both tactical and strategic.
She had also learned to love the game of chess, and in this she was one of us, part of our community.
We are honored to dedicate the first prize of each tournament of the 15th International Open of Salento to her memory.
Thank you, Stéphanie.
