The 8th edition of the Salento International Open has ended. Also this year the event took place in Gallipoli at the Ecoresort Le Sirené thanks to the hospitality and sponsorship of Caroli Hotels.
The tournament saw the participation of 70 players, representing 12 different nations.
The Master Open was won by Russian GM Mikhail Kobalia, followed by Ukrainian GM Andriy Vovk and by the European champion and world Under 12 vice-champion Volodar Murzin who, together with the third place, achieves the norm of FIDE International Master.
The Main Open was won by Apulian Master Samuele Tullio Pizzuto with an excellent 7.5 out of 9.
